Dr. R. Valavan is a homoeopathic physician, graduated (2000) and post graduated (2005) in homoeopathy from Vinayaka Mission Homoeopathic Medical College, Salem. He is one of the first Post Graduates in the discipline of Homoeopathic Pharmacy from all over India. He has professional experience of 18 years, and research and industrial experience of 13 years.
Dr. Valavan has published about 200 papers and articles in reputed journals and magazines on research, therapeutics, homoeopathic pharmacy, industry, etc. and has been delivering lectures at National and International Conferences. He actively involves himself to the professional and social fronts. He held the position of Secretary, Noida Homoeopathic Medical Association (NHMA) and currently heading the Scientific & Medical Affairs Department of Schwabe India, Indian subsidiary of German leader in homoeopathy and phytomedicines. He is the Editor of Homoeo News, Monthly homoeopathic newsletter of NHMA, Editor of Schwabe News, Monthly homoeopathic e-newsletter of Schwabe India, Editorial Board Member of Health Sciences, peer reviewed journal from Kerala University of Health Sciences, Govt. of Kerala, Chief Co-ordinator - International Editorial Board, Advancements in Homoeopathic Research, and Editor, Schwabe Single Remedy Times. Dr. Valavan co-authored 2 books namely Homoeopathic Materia Medica of New Drugs, and A Compendium of Rare and Clinically Established Mother Tinctures. He has also co-authored the chapter 'Patients’ Trend in Choosing the Homoeopathic Medical System in India' along with Dr. Rahul Tewari, of the book Medical Pluralism and Homoeopathy in India and Germany (1810-2010), published by Institut für Geschichte der Medizin, Robert Bosch Stiftung, Franz Steiner Verlag Stuttgart, Germany, 2014.
