How does Myospaz Forte work?

Myospaz Forte Tablet has three salts in it, namely, Chlorzoxazone, Diclofenac, and Paracetamol. All three salts work individually to relieve pain and discomfort.

  • Chlorzoxazone : This component blocks the production of histamine. It also prevents the immune system from releasing chemicals (components of anaphylaxis), and agents that trigger an allergic reaction. Therefore it actively treats bronchospasms and muscle/joint pain caused by asthma, allergic rhinitis, or accumulation of mast cells in the immune system. In addition, this salt decelerates the generation of inflammatory leukotriene, the inflow of calcium and potassium thereby working as a muscle relaxant. It reduces skeletal muscle constriction by inhibiting the multisynaptic reflex arcs caused by the brain.
  • Paracetamol: It acts in the Central Nervous System and works to increase one’s pain tolerance threshold. It does that by preventing prostaglandin synthesis. It reduces fever by acting on the centers of the hypothalamus where heat is controlled. It results in vasodilation which in turns leads to sweating and evaporation of heat.
  • Diclofenac: This salt relieves pain by preventing prostaglandin synthesis, which is a leading cause behind skeletal muscle spasm. It accelerates blood flow and evaporation of heat. It also induces peripheral dilation by working on the hypothalamus.
