Precautions to be taken before the test


A minimum of 10-12 hours of fasting or overnight fasting is a mandatory requisite before undertaking the tests.

It is advisable to take the test early morning.

A proper sleep is necessary to get accurate results.

Use of alcohol and other addictives must be stopped for at least 24 hours prior to taking the tests.

Do not smoke before the tests.

Intake of any medication must be discussed with the doctor before undertaking the test in order to get accurate results.

Females should avoid taking the tests 7 days before or after the menstrual period in order to avoid getting any misinterpreted results.
