It is an ultrasound imaging test of the scrotum to help evaluate the disorders of the testicles, scrotum, and epididymis.
Procedure of the Test
The test is simple and takes only 15 to 30 minutes to be completed. For the test, the patient will lie with face-up on the examination table. The radiologist will apply a gel to the area being studied. This gel helps the transducer to make secure contact with the body. The transducer will then be placed on the body and moved back and forth until clear images are observed. Once clear images are obtained, the gel is wiped off the skin.
Why get tested?
The test provides an image of the scrotum and helps evaluate or assess any underlying problem.
