An X-Ray Arm AP & LAT View Test is a non-invasive radiological diagnostic procedure that uses a minimum amount of radiation to scan the upper arm of an individual. It forms the image of the bones and soft tissues present in the arm between the shoulder and the elbow.
Why get tested?
An X-Ray Arm AP & LAT View Test uses X-rays to form the images of the humerus (bone in upper arm) and soft tissues present around humerus. It helps determine the cause of pain, swelling, tenderness and deformities in the arm.
The test does not require any specific preparations. However, mentioned below are some that points must be kept in mind prior to undergoing the X-Ray Arm AP & LAT View Test -
The patient might be given a hospital gown to wear at the time of the scan.
The patient might be asked to remove the jewellery items or any other metal objects that might interfere with the image.
Pregnant women should inform their doctor and the lab technician to avoid any adverse effect of radiation on the foetus health.
